To assess the visual acuity and quality of vision after implantation of the Hanita Intensity spherical and toric IOLs, and compare the outcomes with those of the PanOptix® trifocal IOL.

91 eyes (34 bilateral cases) received the Intensity IOL—55 in RLE and 36 in cataract surgery. Preoperative screening included pupil size, kappa/alpha angles, and corneal HOAs. Postoperative uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) was evaluated for distance, intermediate, and near vision, and compared to a historical control group implanted with PanOptix.

Distance Vision: ≥0.1 logMAR in 87% (RLE group) and over 80% (cataract group); statistically better than PanOptix (p=0.001).

Near Vision: Almost all RLE patients achieved D-0.5 (Snellen).

Intermediate Vision: Sufficient for reading standard text at 80–90 cm.

Patient Satisfaction: High, with few persistent side effects (e.g., halos) which mostly subsided over time.

The Hanita Intensity IOL provides excellent visual acuity across all distances and demonstrates superior distance vision compared to PanOptix. Its performance is consistent regardless of pupil size, making it a reliable choice for both cataract and RLE patients.

This prospective study evaluated the performance of the Hanita Intensity penta-focal intraocular lens (IOL) in cataract and refractive lens exchange (RLE) patients over an 18-month period. The results demonstrated strong visual outcomes at all distances, with high patient satisfaction and statistically superior distance vision compared to PanOptix.

["post-35950","publication","type-publication","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
