Intensity®, JETT®, and Extend™: Hanita Lenses’ Symposium Opens 2026 in Eilat

We were pleased to have Prof. Gerd Auffarth open the year by participating in our Hanita Lenses symposium at the Ocular Microsurgery Annual Conference in Eilat, Israel. In his lecture, he discussed the new paradigm in refractive cataract care, emphasizing the importance of addressing dry eye and ocular surface disease before and after surgery with JETT®, to help patients fully benefit from premium IOL implantation with the Intensity® Pentafocal IOL. Prof. Auffarth also shared his clinical experience with Extend™, the world’s first Bessel-optics monofocal plus IOL, designed to provide monofocal-like distance vision along with functional intermediate vision. Limin Wang further elaborated on the technology behind JETT®, providing additional insight into its clinical role. Finally, our CTO Alex Maliarov prompted engaging discussions by presenting the Hanita Incubator: an initiative that leverages Hanita Lenses’ 40-year engineering expertise in IOLs to accelerate the translation of breakthrough ophthalmic technologies—rooted in or complementary to the IOL platform—into impactful clinical innovations.
